We moved to Tucson 3 years ago after my husband retired
as a printer from the NY Post newspaper. We came out here because one of my brothers lived
here after researching many retirement places. Want to eat your heart out? Try
this...house has 3 bedrms, 2 baths, 1440 sq. ft on 128 by 85 lot...bought for 58,000.00
and our taxes per year are...get the barf bag ready....300.00! Is it no wonder why we love
it here? It was 105 today but 18% humidity. We can live with that. We live in the Tucson
Mountains surrounded by national forest, about 3000 ft up in the foothills. Plenty of deer
and coyotes, road runners and javelina (big black ugly smelly tusked mountain wild pigs).
From my kitchen window I can see mountains that are 100 miles away with snow on top in
winter. Yes it's nice here...sipping margaritas in the jacuzzi while seeing the snow on
mountains...the best of all worlds...especially after 3margaritas!
Well I am contacting other classmates who live in Az. and hope to get together with them
prior to reunion. I love our web site. Keep up the good work. Talk soon. PS any classmate
who comes to Tucson has a place to stay with us..as we say here Mi Casa Su Casa!
